I've spent more than twenty years making pictures for a living, and most of that time making the systems that let good pictures happen on schedule.

For nearly a decade I directed the photo studio at Saks Global, leading the creative team and running the operation behind a steady stream of e-commerce imagery. In 2024 that work earned a Top 30 E-Commerce Studio Professional honor. Running a studio taught me that the photograph is only half the job. The other half is everything around it: the schedule, the handoffs, the checklist that makes the hundredth shot as good as the first.

That habit of building the system is the thread through everything I do now.

It's why I photograph the way I do. Headshots, product, clinical and action work all come down to the same thing: knowing what the picture is for, and getting it without wasting anyone's time.

It's why I host. I run Greenwood Hill Getaway in Pottsville myself, every guest message and every turnover, and it holds a 4.97 rating from 94 reviews. Now I do the same for other owners across central Pennsylvania, with the listing photography built in.

It's why I build tools. I turn jobs people are doing by hand into software: a ranking tool that helped a residency program's reviewers agree on a list, and a builder that turns a niche into a print-ready puzzle book.

And it's why I still bring a camera everywhere: traveling, the skatepark, or a walk around town with Peak. Those side quests keep the rest of it honest, and one of them turned into The Susky, a local guide to the Susquehanna Valley.
